So, we recently told you about all of the amazing benefits of rose water and if you didn’t run out and buy some, we’re guessing you were at least intrigued. Rose water is nature’s beauty elixir and why not take it advantage of it? It’s inexpensive, has amazing benefits, and smells divine.

Because rose water is one of the latest beauty trends at the moment, you’ve probably realized how steep the prices can be. Luckily for all of us, it’s incredibly easy to make and won’t take you more than 10 minutes to do. Give it a try and you’ll see what we mean. You only need the following ingredients:

rosewater1Boiling water (distilled if you prefer)
Petals from a rose or two
A cheese cloth
A bowl
A strainer
A funnel
A jar
A spray bottle
Essential oils (optional)
Face oil (argan, jojoba, etc. but also optional)

Now follow these steps:

Step 1: Shred the petals from your roses into the jar. Fill the jar with the boiling water, cover it well, and let it sit until the water is cooled. This can take and hour or two but can also be left overnight if you have time.

Step 2: In a big bowl, place the strainer in the middle and then place the cheese cloth on top of the strainer. Pour the mixture over the cheese cloth and strain well.

Step 3: Funnel the mixture into your spray bottle. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for extra aroma and/or moisturizing face oil (about 5 drops) for extra moisture at this time. Shake well before using.

Step 4: Store the rest of the mixture in the jar and keep in the fridge.
