Dry hands can occur at any time of the year no matter what the weather is like. During the winter, we tend to get dry hands due to harsh cold winds and during the summer, it can happen because you may spend too much time in the ocean or too much time in the sun in general. And if you add not applying SPF and hand cream, you’ve got a recipe for hand disaster.

The tops of your hands are like your face, they need to be exfoliated in order to show newer skin. To make a quick scrub for your hands using ingredients you have in your pantry already, try out this tutorial.

What you’ll need:

2 tbsp. of granulated sugar
2 tbsp. of coconut oil (can be substituted by olive or sweet almond)
1 tbsp. of honey

Now follow these steps:

Step 1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl. The consistency should be that of a semi-thick paste.

Step 2. Run your hands under warm water for about 15 seconds. By doing this, you’re softening the skin and dead skin cells will be easier to scrub away.

Step 3. Scrub, scrub, scrub! Scrub in circular motions, just like you would for your face, and gently. The skin on the tops of your hands are thin so don’t apply too much pressure.

Step 4. Rinse off and apply a moisturizing hand cream.

Optional: Place a pair or cotton gloves or socks in the microwave for 10 seconds and put them on your hands after you’ve exfoliated and moisturized. The heat will open up the pores and provide deeper hydration.
