The Kylies are fighting over makeup
It seems that the two most famous Kylies we know, Kylie Jenner and Kylie Minogue, have been spending quite a bit of their precious time battling over cosmetics.
Kylie Minogue recently launched her own brand of makeup, created simply under her infamous name, Kylie. In 2018, Kylie Jenner applied for a trademark under the same name, but she lost out to Kylie Minogue’s trademark under the same name.
The drama started when Kylie Minogue’s team referred to Jenner as a “secondary reality television personality,” essentially insinuating that Minogue was more worthy of the trademark. Minogue’s line includes five products: lip oil, lip gloss, eye to cheek glitter, lip to cheek color, and three shades of eyeshadow, all available for purchase for under $20.
In addition to owning the name Kylie under cosmetic products, Kylie Minogue also owns the trademarks for “Kylie Minogue Darling,” “Lucky — The Kylie Minogue Musical,” “Kylie Minogue,” and kylie.com (which she has owned since 1996).
In addition to stating Jenner is a “secondary reality television personality,” Minogue has claimed Jenner displays “photographic exhibitionism” and “controversial posts have drawn criticism from, e.g., the Disability Rights and African-American communities.”
