Patrick Starrr creates a diverse cosmetics collection

Beauty influencer and YouTube, Patrick Starrr, unveils new cosmetics company One/Size to bring “all-encompassing diversity” to the beauty industry. Starrr isn’t compromising on anything for his first cosmetics collection and will be working in partnership with Luxury Brand Partners.

The One/Size cosmetics collection is set to launch with Sephora online starting July 17 and in-store starting July 30. The collection sums up one of Starrr’s beauty philosophy “makeup us a one size fits all” with the main goal of creating an inclusive line for all.

Starrr started his YouTube channel seven years ago and is one of the leading influencers of the beauty industry, collaborating with some big names in beauty. In 2017 Starrr collaborated on a special collection with MAC Cosmetics that created $25 million in sales.

Starrr uses YouTube as a platform for his performance art, wanting his new collection to celebrate drag queens and the LGBTQ+ community. One/Size was created by Starrr in partnership with Luxury Brand Partners that invested $10 million into the new cosmetics collection.

Luxury Brand Partners is known for establishing big beauty brands including Oribe, that was sold in 2017 to Kao for $400 million. LBP previously sold Becca Cosmetics to Estee Lauder Cos. inc. for $230 million. LBP is reportedly investing three times the amount they normally do for other brands’ initial investment.

The One/Size project required years of work but as the launch date approached, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic caused LBP to start working remotely and caused a delay on the launch date. This is an unprecedented time for LBP with most operations working remotely and the last in-person meeting with everyone involved dating back to February.

After months of planning around new safety protocols for retail stores, Sephora is operating with 90% of stores open after closing due to COVID-19 lockdowns. Starrr hopes to provide a unique beauty shopping experience in-person and online, One/Size will also be featured on Sephora’s newly launched Instagram storefront.
