Selena Gomez proves she’s a rare beauty

The pop singer Selena Gomez is entering the beauty community with her first make-up brand, Rare Beauty, and it is coming sooner than we thought. Rare Beauty will be sold in-store and online with RareBeauty.com, Sephora, Sephora Canada, and Sephora Mx.

The mission of Rare Beauty is to offer a beauty brand for people who embrace their beauty and wear makeup as a form of self-expression rather than changing their appearance for approval from others. Gomez announced she was in the process of creating her first beauty brand a couple of months back leaving fans and the beauty community buzzing.

“I wanted people to feel like makeup is something you can enjoy, it’s not something that you need… Any girl, woman, boy, whoever they are can just feel beautiful just exactly how they are.” – Selena Gomez

On September 3, everyone will get the chance to explore the first Rare Beauty collection and her unique campaign featuring models from the open casting call. The open casting call invited anyone over the age of 18 living in the US a chance to be a model for the campaign by submitting their personal Sephora Color IQ from the shade matching tool along with their Instagram handle including a story of what makes the contestant rare.

Rare Beauty will also be giving back to the community through the $100 million Rare Impact Fund that will provide mental health services for underserved communities. Rare Beauty will also be contributing 1 percent of annual sales to the Rare Beauty Fund and they plan on raising $100 million over the next 10 years.

Details are limited but some are guessing that the first Rare Beauty collection will feature eyeshadows, lip products, and blush. If you’re looking forward to the launch, you can sign-up for an e-mail reminder on the websites for Sephora and Rare Beauty.
