You know what they say, if you’re not whitening, you’re yellowing. Scary thought, isn’t it? Luckily whitening your teeth doesn’t have to mean a thousand-dollar trip to the dentist. Instead, you can work one or more of these easy, dentist-recommended habits into your daily teeth cleaning routine.

1. Brush your teeth with a mixture of one part hydrogen peroxide and two parts baking soda. This three-dollar remedy might not taste minty fresh, but its whitening effects are well worth the unfavorable flavor.

2. Use mouthwash after you brush. Gargling mouthwash helps to get into the gaps cleaned out by brushing and flossing.

3. Use a whitening pre-rinse. This loosens buildup and food before you even brush, floss or gargle mouthwash.
