Tokyo Fashion Inspired By Rebellion

Tokyo, Japan has long been known for its unique style. From the fashion of well-known brands to its street style, it provides inspiration for creative dressers everywhere.

The capital of Japan provides inspiration for those who appreciate a subversive, rebellious sense of style. It is an especially trendy place, so fashion lovers are sure to find something that speaks to them.

But Tokyo wasn’t always this way. Things seemed to change after the student movement in the 1960s, when many young people who were protesting the Vietnam War began rejecting tradition and embracing individuality more. Because of this, much of the rebellious style you see Japanese trendsetters wearing was born, stemming from rebelling against the norm.

In Spring 2019, fashion has once again switched things up in Japan. Fashionistas from all over Tokyo had a chance to show off their fabulous, unique senses of style during Amazon Fashion Week. From tiny neon shades to platform shoes to fanny packs to wildly dyed hair, you’re sure to find something that speaks to you when it comes to finding your sense of style.
