Lupita Nyong’o of Black Panther fame surprised–and awed– fans at the 2019 Golden Globes when she showed up wearing the most unexpected brand pairing ever: a shockingly blue Calvin Klein dress and a pair of $90 silver heels from Aldo… which she apparently got on sale for only $45.
The 35-year-old actress posed casually for the cameras, striking a peace sign and even raising her foot backward to show her Aldo shoes, which wasn’t very visible given the length of her strapless dress.
The silver strappy heels actually complemented her dress rather well, with its silver glittering accents that ran down the entire length of the dress. Not to mention, the way Nyong’o carried herself on the red carpet made it virtually impossible to guess that she was wearing $90 shoes, let alone $45.
Although she’s not an individual nominee for the Golden Globes this year, Lupita Nyong’o isn’t exactly a newbie to the annual awarding ceremony either. In 2014, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the period drama film, 12 Years A Slave.
