Sneakers are having a major fashion moment right now. The trend got popular last fall and has been trending ever since. Street style photographers everywhere have been capturing fashionistas in mostly Nike and New Balance sneakers that stick within the black, grey, white, and burgundy colors but now that spring is here and summer around the corner, it’s time to spice them up a bit. The perfect thing to do is adding a little bling so check out this fun DIY to make those sneakers shine.
The supplies you’ll need are the following:
1. Sneakers
2. Rhinestones
3. Ribbon (optional)
4. Small paintbrush
5. E6000 glue
6. Tweezers
Now follow these steps:
Step 1. Squeeze out some E6000 glue. Use a paper plate so you don’t have to squeeze the glue out every time.
Step 2. Add the glue to the part you want to embellish. Do it in small sections so the glue doesn’t dry out.
Step 3. Glue the rhinestones. You can embellish wherever you want but if you’re doing this on a pair of Nike’s, the check would look best and if you’re doing this on New Balance’s, the “N” will also look best. Using tweezers will make your life a whole lot easier because it places the rhinestone exactly where you want it.
Step 4. This part is completely optional but on the Chanel Spring 2014 runways, the sneakers used didn’t have shoe laces and instead had regular lace so to recreate this, use some ribbon! It’ll look just like the ones at the runway for a fraction of the price.
