Anna Wintour endorses Joe Biden for 2020 Presidential Election

Editor-in-chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour, addresses her thoughts with ongoing political issues including the coronavirus outbreak, the 2020 election, and the Met Gala. Wintour expresses the importance of daily developments of the coronavirus and how things are evolving constantly with changes.

Wintour goes after President Donald Trump saying he’s “stubbornly unchanged” and is appalled by his response to this pandemic through his ” optimistic and fact-free assurances that all will be fine.” She also points out his chaotic implementation of travel bans claiming COVID-19 is a ‘foreign virus’ and passes blame to others with “narcissistic ease.”

Demonstrating Trump’s lack of empathy and compassion for those suffering from this disease, she shifted the focus on the need for America to elect a new president in the upcoming 2020 election. Wintour goes onto officially endorse Joe Biden for the Presidential election, saying he is a man of character and has qualities that are much needed in Washington right now.

She praises Biden for Biden’s decency, compassion, honor, and trustworthiness, with emphasis on his experience. Wintour reassured readers that we will get through this difficult time but will have to face other issues such as the climate change crisis, calling for a leader “who can set this country on a path to sustainability.”

As all the major fashion events of the year have been cancelled or rescheduled, it left everyone guessing the fate of the iconic Met Gala. After much debate on the issue, the Metropolitan Museum is going to be closed on the night the gala that is scheduled for May and the Met Gala is officially cancelled. Wintour promises that Vogue will be featuring the exhibition in the upcoming May issue.
