Getting the perfect cat eye takes years of practice and a lot of makeup removing wipes as well as a steady hand. The type of liner you use can also make the whole process either easier or harder so finding which liner works best for you tends to also be a task. One thing we can pretty much agree on is that gel liner can be intimidating to work with as it dries incredibly fast and if you mess it up, it’s going to take a lot of meticuluos cleaning up so that you don’t ruin the rest of your eye makeup.

Although gel liner can be stubborn, it’s super easy to work with if you have the right brush and work fast. If you want to create a cat eye using gel liner and get it right, try this tutorial.

What you’ll need:

-Gel liner
-An angled eyeliner brush

Now follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Curl your eyelashes beforehand. This will help to better define your lash line so there’s no need to apply mascara just yet.

Step 2: Dip your angled brush lightly into the gel and start lining the lash line starting in the middle and working outwards to the end of the lash line.

Step 3: Take your angled brush and place the end of the brush on the very end of your lash line and angle it upwards. This is going to create the flick so work with whatever leftover product you have on the brush and darken it a little bit at a time. You can make it thicker by simply connecting the flick to the line you created initially.

Step 4: The liner should be thinner as you get closer to the inner part of the eye so really wiggle the product in the roots for good definition.
