MTV VMA star-studded fashion show

The MTV VMAs might have changed its production format to adhere to social distancing guidelines for COVID-19 but this didn’t stop celebrities from wearing some show-stopping outfits. We recap some of the show-stopping looks of the MTV VMAs.

The host of the awards show, Keke Palmer, wore a dress inspired by the style of the 90s and early 2000s with a light blue mini dress by Area that featured fun embellishments including a bow and bedazzled spaghetti straps. She wore several other outfits but my personal favorite was this fun Area dress and her pink ostrich feather dress with crystals.

Miley Cyrus wore a custom punk rock glam piece by Mugler wearing a black transparent dress with mirror embellishments with black lingerie and black strappy stilettos. For her performance of her new single “Midnight Sky”, she wore a black mesh tank and skirt combo.

Doja Cat performed in two stunning bodysuits for her MTV VMA debut performance of her hit songs “Say So” and “Like That.” Doja Cat wore a custom metallic orange Versace dress to accept the award for PUSH New Artist with a floor-length Repunzel braid.

The top award-winner of the night with five Moonmans was Lady Gaga and in true fashion, she had nearly 6 wardrobe changes between all awards she won and her debut performance of “Rain on Me” with Ariana Grande. Gaga walked the red carpet in a chic Moonman outfit by Area with a Conrad by Conrad helmet and Pleaser platform boots.

One of the craziest looks of the evening was a custom Iris Van Herpen dress that looked like a holographic optical illusion. Along with stunning haute couture pieces, Gaga wore a custom mask along with every wardrobe change throughout the night, also wearing a mask during her performance including the other dancers.
