It’s that time of the year when it’s freezing outside and layering is a must. You layer your shirt, sweater, coat, and lastly, the 2 for 1 item, a scarf. Scarves not only keep your warm but can be a great accessory for your outfit. You can drastically change from one look to another by just tying it a different way.

If you want to learn how to tie your scarf in a stylish way, try out the following:

The European loop. Take your scarf and hold it in the middle. Then place it around your neck and take the other side of the scarf and pull it through that middle part your created.

The infinity. Place the scarf on your neck and tie a knot with the end corner pieces. Once you’ve done that, twist it once and you can wrap it around your head again. This particular scarf tie work best with longer scarves.

The cowgirl. This one works best with shorter, square scarves. Fold your scarf into a triangle and tie the two small ends on the back of your neck.

Around your head. If there’s one thing we’ve learned from street style star Miroslava Duma, it’s that a scarf can look just as great on your head as it does on your neck. This works best with a scarf that has some type of design or pattern to make your outfit look a lot more complex. Fold the scarf into a triangle and tie the two loose ends under your chin. You’ll look stylish while keeping your head and neck warm.
