Whether you tried the over-the-knee boot trend last fall or not, you’re going to want to a pair this season–they’re trending again. While the weather is starting to warm up and you’re naturally inclined to just grabbing a pair of heels, tall boots look just as great with shorts or a dress so transitioning your pair is a lot easier than it seems. And if you love statement shoes, these shoes will definitely make your prescence known.

Transition your over-the-knee boots with these 3 outfit ideas:

OTKMatch your boots to your pants. If you’re still easing into the trend and want more of a demure look, make sure your boots and pants are the same color. The reason you want to do this is because the boot is less obvious but can still be seen if your pair, say, leather pants and suede boots. Pair with a white, loose top and a motto jacket and you’re good to go.

With a dress or skirt. You can style as you please when it comes to dresses and skirts but it’s important to keep on thing in mind: you need to create a balance with proportions. If you’re wearing these boots, chance are they’re hugging your legs so that means your going to want your bottoms to be flowy. Now, this doesn’t mean you can’t wear a tighter dress or skirt but it’s important to find a happy medium to avoid looking overdone.

With shorts. Warmer weather means shorts and pairing them with over-the-knee boots is a match made in heaven. If you want to wear shorts but it may be a little chilly outside still, the boots will keep you warm while still looking chic. And if you to transition it from day to night, you can wear black stockings underneath to show just the slightest bit of skin. We love the idea or wearing shorts and boots with a button-down to balance out that statement being made on the bottom half.
