December is such a bright and festive month and how could it not sparkle so much? It’s the month when Christmas lights adorn every tree and window, shimmery makeup can be seen on everyone, and even nails get a touch of glitter. But the sparkle we’re excited about the most? Sequin!

Sequin anything is usually reserved for the winter and now that it’s finally here, you need to wear it right. Follow these simple tips and bring a little sparkle with you everywhere you go.

Wear sequins in a dress. This is probably the first thing you’ll gravitate to when you think of sequins for the holidays and that’s completely ok. A nice sequin shift dress is perfect for all of your holiday parties but make sure you balance it out by not wearing too much jewelry as it can be overwhelming. Stick to solid colors for shoes and clutches like nude or black. Feeling extra daring? Wear a long black coat over your sequin dress and pair with black sneakers and you can look like a street style star while running errands.

Crop top that shines. Going out tonight and want to sparkle with looking like a lit up tree? Crop top it up. Pair a sequin crop top with jeans or a solid colored skirt with some heels are you’re ready to party.

Sequins on a skirt. Sequin pencil skirts look amazing and work great as a statement piece. It should be styled similar to a sequin dress but we wouldn’t be mad at all if you went for a sequin crop top as well. It’s all about the color so stick to neutrals and darks like beige, navy blue, dark green, and black so there’s more versatility when it comes to styling.

Sequin pants. Out of all the sequin pieces there are, this one definitely takes the cake. Bringing sparkle to your outfit and still being able to run to catch a taxi cab is such an underappreciated thing. These pants look the best in dark colors like black and navy paired with a solid colored loose top and strappy heels. But don’t let us ruin your fun; beige can look equally as great.
