New report will determine the sustainability of NYFW
The fashion industry is focusing on choosing sustainable practices in every aspect from materials used in collections to various fashion week events, being held accountable for making better environment-conscious choices. New York Fashion Week is being held accountable for their environmental impact through a new investigation.
The investigation will examine aspects of the event including transportation and production, working in partnership with the United Nation’s Office of Partnerships and Conscious Fashion to produce the impact report. The CEO and president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Steven Kolb, says that CFDA feels it’s important to guide and support the fashion industry towards a positive change.

BCG and CFDA are focusing on integrating sustainable practices into activations and strategies according to Willersdorf.
The investigation report is set to come out to the public in April which is the 50th anniversary of Earth Month, celebrating environmental conservation and awareness.
