MAC celebrates first K-pop global ambassador

Lalisa Manobal, better known as Lisa from the K-pop girl group Blackpink in celebrating her debut in the beauty community as the new global ambassador for MAC cosmetics. MAC revealed they chose Lisa as the global ambassador because she is a forward-thinking innovator with global recognition.

Lisa is also making history with MAC becoming the first female K-pop star to be featured in an international MAC campaign. The new brand ambassador is also promising to reveal some of her best-kept beauty secrets including her skincare regimen and best makeup looks.

MAC debuted the new global ambassador in her first campaign with a youthful makeup featuring Extra Dimension SkinFinish (in Show Gold), Studio Fix Fluid Foundation (NW18), Prep + Prime Lip, and Powder Kiss Lipstick (in Mull It Over). For the eyes, Lisa is wearing Dazzleshadow Liquid Eyeshadow (in Pantherized, Diamond Crumbles, and Not Afraid to Sparkle), Brushstroke eyeliner (in Brushblack), and Matte Eyeshadow (in Stars ‘N’ Rockets and Espresso).


The global creative director and senior vice president, Drew Elliott, explains, “Always confident and never one to shy away from risks, she [Lisa] embodies our commitment to celebrating individuality and self-expression above all else. We can’t wait for her fans to see what she has in store for them through our collaboration.”

Lisa disclosed that she was excited about the invitation from MAC to be the global ambassador and hopes to empower a diverse audience with her new position. The K-pop star is known as the lead rapper and dancer for Blackpink as well as the fashion ambassador for Celine.

Netflix recently released a new documentary “BlackPink: Light Up the Sky” following the journey of the K-pop group and their rise to fame. The new Blackpink documentary also shows the personal lives of the K-pop star and a chance to learn more about each member’s personal style.
