In the fast-paced world of beauty, lob is a near prehistoric term referring to a long bob style. That was until Mila Kunis and her hairstylist Renato Campora put a little star power and spin on the cut.

The actress unveiled her new transformed style on Instagram Wednesday, and the Internet is officially obsessed. In favor over the traditional lob, Mila’s hair was cut with more subtle layers, which according to Instyle adds more volume to the look.

The cut also perfectly grazes her shoulders, opening up her face providing a new frame for her brows and eye. The lob was also shaped at an asymmetrical angle – which has been Mila’s signature for a while now.

It looks like the lob is no longer dead. Beauty insiders and celeb stylists traded in the lob trend in preference for a more angled and blunt chin skimming bob a couple years prior. The bob easily allows wearers to play into the glass hair fad and undergo quick changes like extensions and wigs.

The buzz surrounding Mila’s new lob is proof that the industry is shifting focus to more natural and wearable styles. If you’re wanting to recreate the cut with your stylist, emphasize during the consultation that you want a style with soft, shoulder length layers.
