Hello again to all of our Chicistas! I’m back again with another review but this time it’s for makeup. This one is especially exciting because it comes to me from glō∙minerals, a makeup line that emphasizes on makeup that makes your skin glow. My skin, although very fair, can be lackluster at times so I’m always looking for the next product that will liven up my complexion. Thankfully the products that I will be presenting to you today helped a lot. Keeping reading for the full review.

I’ll be reviewing the products pictured above and they are (clockwise): glō∙minerals lip gloss in peony, the Alloy Eyes Collection eye shadow palette, sheer tint base in natural, highlighter, face primer, lip and cheek glōTint, the Champagne Rose eye shadow trio, a kabuki brush, and lastly the Perfecting Powder. The following picture is me with my naked face; no concealer, base, or mascara. Here goes ladies!

As you can see I have under-eye darkness, a few breakouts, and overall redness (compare my face to the rest of my body). My eyelashes are somewhat long but not very thick so I’m always on the hunt for a good mascara. For reference, I am usually the lightest color in any makeup line, on NC 15, maybe even 10.

The first product I used on my face was the face primer. You don’t need much because it spreads very smoothly. I found that it feels silicone based so it fills out your pores and fine lines, always a plus. It’s clear and has no detectable scent. I also applied it to my eyelids. Next I used the sheer tint base. The tint has no smell, is lightweight, and has a bit more coverage than its name would suggest. I applied it with my favorite foundation brush and really liked the finish. It’s matte so I didn’t have to apply much perfecting powder. This tint base is buildable so if you need more coverage you can do so. It also doesn’t look cakey so when I’m having a bad “skin” day I can apply an extra layer and be confident that I won’t look overdone.

The next thing to be done on my face was my eyes. I used the Alloy Eye Collection palette to do a subtle, day time office smokey eye. I swept buff all over my lid for a clean canvass. Next, I mixed the colors cappuccino and tuxedo to get a nice dark taupe color and applied that on the outer corner of my eyes. I buffed out the eyeshadow a bit with a fluffy brush to get that oh-so desired “smokey” effect. To bring some light to my eyes I applied the champagne color in the trio to my inner corners. Because the eye shadows are highly pigmented, I didn’t have to use much, which means the product will last longer.

I finished off my eyes by applying the mascara. This mascara is hands down in the top 3 best mascaras I’ve ever used (and that’s a long list to top). It elongates, thickens, and gives such incredible volume, it’s the mascara triple threat if you will. I don’t know why I’ve lived so long without it! Lastly, I applied the peony lip gloss. It’s such a beautiful shade of pink, very girly and ties in perfectly with the pink pout trend. I did find myself having to re-apply it throughout the day because it wears off on its own after about 2-3 hours. I will add that it is very moisturizing so I didn’t have to apply any additional chap stick.

Here’s the final lovely look:

See how much better I look? My complexion is more even and my eyes look livelier. Here’s a close-up:

The mascara really did wonders. It looks like I have false eyelashes on and this was all with one coat of mascara. Whoa! The smokey eye is very subtle but noticeable and I highlighted my nose bridge and cheekbones a bit. For some blush, I applied the glōTint on the apples of my cheeks.

I’m very satisfied with whole glō∙minerals makeup line and the quality. Their products didn’t cause me any breakouts and didn’t clog my pores at all. The makeup stays in place all day save for the lip gloss and it makes my skin look great. My natural oils don’t come out to play even when I don’t powder up so that alone gets a thumbs up from me. I recommend this makeup line to everybody and encourage you to visit www.glo-minerals.com and browse their site as I guarantee you will find something suitable for your skin type and color.
