If you were *blessed* with a sensitive scalp, you know how torturous it can be when you have your hair in some type of updo. The style doesn’t matter because as long as it’s up and there’s some type of pressure, it hurts and you can wait to get rid of it. Sometimes it can even lead to headaches making it that much worst because you have to take pain medication. Not cool at all.

If you’re looking for a quick updo that takes no time and is a great alternative to the bun, try this pain-free French twist tutorial.

Mulberry Spring/Summer 2013 - London Fashion Week - ArrivalsStep 1: Massage your scalp relieve it from any tensions. It’ll help relax your scalp as well as to prep it for the styling.

Step 2. If your hair looks a little flat or a bit dirty, spray in some dry shampoo or texturizing spray. Skip this step if your hair already has good volume.

Step 3. Gather the hair as if you were to create a ponytail. It should be around the back of the head towards the middle.

Step 4: Next, place two fingers on the scalp where the hair is gathered and wrap the hair around them. Take your fingers out of the small bun you created and pin with just one pin the hair on the inside and another on the outside. You only need two pins but if you can tolerate more you can use additional pins.

And that’s it! You now have a bun that will create the least bit of tension on your scalp and is appropriate for many different occasions.
