When you have mid-length hair, it’s kind of hard to identify it as either long or short. While it’s slightly long, it’s also slightly short so it’s that in-between stage where you’re not sure what to do with it. And if you’re trying to do an updo, the length isn’t always enough to get it to look the way you want it to.
If you need some inspiration for your mid-length hair (yay for lobs!), here’s a great updo that won’t take too long to do and works just as great during the day as it does at night.
Here’s what you’ll need:
–Texturizing spray
–Bobby pins
–An elastic
–Hairspray
Here are the steps you need to follow:
Step 1: Section off the top layer of the hair, around the crown area. We’re going to use this hair later on.
Step 2: Take the remaining hair and secure it with an elastic. On the last loop, don’t pull all the hair through. Pin that hair down in a little bun with bobby pins.
Step 3: Take down the hair that was sectioned off earlier. Part it down the middle spray some texturizing spray or sea salt spray for to add texture to the hair. You can curl the hair slightly with curling wand if you’d like more waves but you can achieve the same results with the sea salt spray.
Step 4: Grab one side of the hair and twist it away from your face starting around your temple or ear area. Pin it to the top of the bun you created earlier. Then, wrap any remaining hair around the bun and pin down with more bobby pins.
Step 5: Repeat step 4 with the other section of hair.
Step 6: To make it look a bit more lived-in and wispy, take out a few hairs here and there especially around the face area. Finish with hairspray.
