For women all over the world, leaving home without proper eyebrows is unfathomable. We’ve all learned more in recent years that eyebrows frame the face and complete any makeup look whether it’s natural or full-out glamorous. The trending full brows have also made us cringe a little when we look back at high school pictures only to see the very opposite of what it is right—at least currently.

So keeping all of this mind, then, are you filling in your brows the correct way? It’s easy to grab an eyebrow pencil and draw them on and call it a day but the aesthetics of your face will suffer.

If you want to learn how to fill in your brows properly for the best and most natural looking brow, use these simple tips.

Brush the brows hair first. Take a spoolie or an old, but clean, eyelash brush and brush the hair up and out. This is done so you can see where the hairs naturally go and to see where the bald spots are so you can fill them in later.

Use a lighter and darker color pencil or powder. Your brows are naturally more sparse on the inner part and darken towards the end so you need 2 separate colors for the most natural look possible. The colors should be within the same color range except one will be lighter and another darker.

Use light hair-like strokes. This will, again, aid in more realistic looking brows. Drawing a harsh line is one of the biggest mistakes you can make but can be avoided if you use a light hand.

Powder looks more natural. Pencils are great to use especially if you haven’t any time to spare but take a bit can look heavy if it hasn’t been brushed out properly. Powders, on the other hand, look more like a shadow of your own eyebrow hairs (if the correct colors are used) and need no extra effort to even out. Try both and see for yourself.

Give these tips a try and you’ll be sure to have some of the best brows around.
