Now that the watchful eyes have shifted to the Paris RTW runways, we can now digest the excitement that was Fall 2019 NYFW, and it was a lot. From Jeremy Scott’s literal fake news collection to Tomo Koizumi’s floating technicolor organization creations, fashion week was full of amazing new trends.
Here’s the 3 big trends for NYFW that will define fall style:
Animal Print
Animal print was a reoccurring theme this year with designer’s opting for more neutral and natural tones of the pattern. Embrace the wild side in wardrobe by accessorizing with smaller animal print accessorizes like clutches and jewelry. Snake skin ankle boots are another must-have safari chic piece.
Feathers
Marc Jacobs displayed pieces that were head-to-feathers in his runway show. While that might be a little much for your day-to-day, opt for pieces with feather accents, a la Kendall Jenner’s Revolve LBD. Make the look even more eclectic by mixing up the textures with a pair of glitter tights.
Quilting
Quilting is no longer reserved for just parkas this fall. Much like those snake skin booties, quilted handbags and blazers are set to be a huge street style trend. Play with textures this fall and mix it up by adding a layer of velvet.
