Where do I start with this amazing woman’s journey? From her humble beginnings in Hawaii, to landing on the list of New York Times bestseller book list, she has truly defined being a successful feminine powerhouse in the transgender community. Aside from books, Mock is transforming media portrayals of transgender women including producing for the smashing FX series “Pose” with Ryan Murphy.

With a Masters in journalism from New York University she decided to write her first biography about her journey and life as a transgender woman called Redefining Realness (2014). The book proved to be a smash success debuting as a New York Times bestsellers list in 2014. Her second book Surpassing Certainty is a memoir that was also successful covering the years of her life when she was not living openly as trans.

She is taking the transgender community by storm through media and politics. In 2017 Mock was an advocate for women’s rights during the Women’s March on Washington, also founding #GirlsLikeUs and #TransBookDrive. During her inspirational speech in Washington she addressed the need for intersection and inclusive movement for women of all races and backgrounds.

Her amazing advocacy has not gone unnoticed with Variety naming her one of the “Power of Women” for 2017.

All I can say is that Janet Mock is nothing short of being one of the most inspiration women of out time.
