Perfecting the at home blowout seems like a daunting task especially if you’re not sure what to do. When you go to the salon, your hair stylist seems to have a way of using products and brushes that make you look like a bombshell so paying for a blowout is a no brainer. He or she also does it in a timely manner, something you probably still haven’t been able to perfect either.
Because we know how difficult giving yourself a blow dry can be, here’s the easiest way to do so while sparing your arms some pain.
Step 1. If you’re hair isn’t already wet, dampen it with some water. If it is, just towel dry until water isn’t dripping from it.
Step 2. Section out the crown of your hair first (start at around the temples to the crown of the hair) and pin it in place. With the remaining hair, split it in half and brush both sides well to get rid of any tangles.
Step 3. Start with a rough blow dry and just use your fingers to get the moisture out of the hair on both sections of the hair. Then with a paddle brush blow dry the hair from the roots till about ¾ of the way down.
Step 4. Take a round brush and place the ends of the hair on it and heat it up with the blow dryer. Let it cool and heat it up again. This is what creates that slight curl at the ends when your stylist does it.
Step 5. For the crown part, you’re going to split it in 3 sections: back, middle, and front. Take the back section and spray some volumizing spray into the roots and midsection and dry the hair while concentrating on the roots for added volume.
Step 6. Repeat step 5 for the middle and front section.
