This season is bringing back a trend that initiated last year around this time—the sneaker wedge. Some of you may love it, some of you may hate it but it’s inevitable; it’s everywhere. It’s a rather chunky shoe with its wide front part that can include Velcro straps and thick shoe laces that definitely makes its presence known when wearing it.
The original creator of the infamous shoe is Isabel Marant and you can find mostly every fashion-forward celebrity wearing different models of her shoe like Miranda Kerr, Alicia Keys, and super model Jourdan Dunn. Even designer Marc Jacobs jumped on the sneaker wedge bandwagon last year when he designed his own line of similar footwear in his Spring/Summer 2012 collection last year. But if you’re worried about the price, don’t worry. Other more affordable labels have also designed their own version, like Zara and Steve Madden, so make sure to look around more if you’re interested in rocking this trend. Try the Trend
As we said before, this trend might not be for everybody since it’s either a “love it or hate it” type of trend. For those daring ladies that will try any trend once, make sure to remember that it’s still a sneaker and should be treated like one when deciding on how to pair it up.
We recommend wearing these bad boys with some skinny jeans or leather leggings with a casual top like a designer t shirt . Hair and makeup is completely up to you since it’s pretty casual but some mirrored sunnies could bring the whole look together and give it more of a “cool” feel.
Treat this sneaker as if it had no wedge at all; whatever places or settings you would wear a tennis shoe you can wear this sneaker wedge too. We hope you’ll give it a try!
