Dreamy and Delicate

Opulent and dreamy are the first two words that come to mind, as one tries to define the Spring 2020 haute couture collection presented by UK-based label Ralph & Russo. Presented inside Le Carreau du Temple in Paris, the show was built upon an array of emotions and one significant milestone: the label’s 10th anniversary. Australia-born designer Tamara Ralph dedicated the collection to her homeland, devastatingly affected by recent bushfires.

The collection itself exuded positivity and hope, with a bright outlook on the future, where Ralph made it a point to present reimagined installations of the label’s signature pieces from the past.

One show-stopping look after another exposed the lavish and seductive intricacy that’s long been recognized and embraced by the label’s A-list clientele. Face-framing halters, endless amounts of feathers, bows, giant flowers, capes and high-slits that are playful enough to intrigue but know exactly where to stop.

The fresh and uplifting colors, with top focus on teal and seafoam, inspired thoughts of a dreamy, unspoiled romance.

Not surprisingly, it was Ralph & Russo who was talked of being Meghan Markle’s top choice, when it came to her wedding dress. The now ex-Duchess infamously chose the label’s dress for her engagement, captured and celebrated in the photo spread with her husband, Harry.

Things did turn out differently for the wedding attire, however, with Markle now being free to make her very own fashion choices and fulfill her true fashionista urges, we can imagine that she would find this collection quite enticing.
